Handling system for data carriers and data carrier archive system

Abstract

In order to provide a handling system for data carriers, comprising a gripper for the data carriers and a robot unit having a plurality of axes and intended for movement of the gripper in space, which handling system is constructed as simply as possible and can therefore be realised cost-effectively, it is proposed that the robot unit has an underframe and a rotary frame rotatable relative to the latter about a vertical axis of rotation, and that the rotary frame has a linear axis rotatable about the vertical axis of rotation and oriented substantially vertically, as well as two linear axes extending substantially horizontally and transversely to one another.
